January 24th, 2017 - Attending only ten events throughout the 2016 season, Bub McCool reeled in three victories during the shortened-season. Losing four of his dates to bad weather, McCool posted ten Top 10 finishes and eight Top 5 outings.

October 1st, 2016 - Behind the wheel of Tommy Surrett’s secondary car, Bub McCool returned to action on Friday night traveling to Greenville Speedway (Greenville, Mississippi) for the 10th Annual Gumbo Nationals. Drawing 45 Super Late Models for Mississippi State Championship Challenge Series (MSCCS) sanctioned program, McCool placed 7th in his heat giving him one last shot at the $10,000-to-win A-Main with a B-Main appearance. Needing a 3rd place finish or better, Bub edged his way into the main event on Saturday with a 3rd place outing. Starting in 22nd, Bub McCool advanced 13 positions in the 75-lapper posting a 9th place finish.

June 11th, 2016 - With the weather cancelling the show on Friday, the Mississippi State Championship Challenge Series (MSCCS) followers headed to Whynot Motorsports Park (Meridian, Mississippi) on Saturday night. With twenty-two entries signed in for the $2,500-to-win A-Main, McCool landed a top five finish in the feature. Falling one spot short of a podium finish, Bub notched a 4th place outing behind B.J. Robinson, Brian Rickman, and David Breazeale with Rick Rickman coming in 5th.

May 29th, 2016 - Kicking off the Memorial Day weekend, Bub McCool traveled to North Mississippi Motor Park (Corinth, Mississippi) on Saturday night for the $3,000-to-win unsanctioned event. Drawing a field of twenty-four Super Late Models, McCool landed a top five finish in the feature. May 21st, 2016 - Returning with the Mississippi State Championship Challenge Series (MSCCS), Bub McCool headed to Deep South Speedway (Loxley, Alabama) on Saturday night for the $3,000-to-win event. Competing in a field of fifteen cars, Bub picked up his third victory of the season with David Breazeale, Chad Thrash, Kody Barber, and Dean Carpenter rounding out the top five in the A-Main. May 14th, 2016 - Bub McCool made the trip to Greenville Speedway (Greenville, Mississippi) on Friday night for the event co-sanctioned by the Mississippi State Championship Challenge Series (MSCCS) and the COMP Cams Super Dirt Series (CCSDS). In a field of thirty-six cars, McCool captured a heat race victory earning him a second row high-side starting spot for the feature. Working his way into the lead early in the race, McCool held off the field late in the race to pick up his second victory of the season and a $2,000 payday. On Saturday McCool traveled to Magnolia Motor Speedway (Columbus, Mississippi) for a $2,500-to-win show. Competing in a stout field of forty-three Super Late Models, Bub captured a heat race victory earning him the pole position starting spot for the feature. With 40-laps to hold his position, Bub McCool fell back to a 4th place finish behind Hunter Rasdon, Ronny Lee Hollingsworth, and Chris Brown with Wendell Wallace coming in 5th.

December 9th, 2015 - Competing in a total of 21 events, Bub McCool captured an impressive ten victories on the 2015 season. With the rain determining the outcome of nine of his planned events, McCool reeled in 20 Top 10 finishes. Along with his 18 Top 5 outings, Bub clinched the Mississippi State Championship Challenge Series points title.
