October 25th, 2014 - Bub McCool competed at Whynot Motorsports Park (Meridian, Mississippi) over the weekend as he took part in the 20th Annual Coors Light Fall Classic at the 1/3 mile oval.

Forty-eight Super Late Models entered the event, and a heat race victory on Friday night would position Bub starting third in the $15,000-to-win finale on Saturday. When the 100 lapper went green, McCool raced around the top five for much of the event before ultimately registering a third place finish behind race winner, Randy Weaver and Chris SImpson. Mike Marlar and Billy Moyer rounded out the top five finishers.

October 11th, 2014 - Bub McCool was once again in action in his home state over the weekend with a trip to Magnolia Motor Speedway (Columbus, Mississippi) for the 11th Annual Magnolia State Cotton Pickin' 100.

The $20,000-to-win race drew a stout field of seventy-two entries to the 3/8 mile oval, and in heat race action on Friday night Bub earned the pole position via time trials before racing to the victory to lock into the fifth starting spot for Saturday night's finale. In the 100 lap feature Bub raced throughout the top ten before slipping to a thirteenth place finish in the final rundown.

Fifty entries took part in the event, which was sanctioned by the Mississippi State Championship Challenge Series (MSCCS). Bub started his weekend by qualifying second fastest in his group during time trials before racing to a heat race win on Friday night. As a result he would start third in Saturday's $10,000-to-win finale.

When the main event went green, it was front-row starter, Timothy Culp who assumed the point with McCool hot on his rear bumper. The duo swapped the lead six times until McCool hopped the cushion in turn-four on lap 54 while chasing Culp. Five circuits later McCool slowed to bring out the caution with a broken driveshaft, bringing his chances of a fourth straight Gumbo Nationals victory to an end. Bub was credited with a seventeeth place finish.
