A strong field of thirty-six Super Late Models registered for the $2,500-to-win program, and struggles in time trials positioned Bub starting fifth in a b-main. He advanced to a fourth place finish, earning him the nineteenth starting spot for the main event. In the feature, McCool mounted an impressive charge to the front, advancing fifteen positions to finish fourth behind race winner, David Breazeale, Chris Wall, and Rick Rickman.

September 6th, 2014 - Bub McCool piloted his #57J McCool Logging/Victory Circle/Jay Dickens Super Late Model over the weekend in the 44th Annual World 100 at Eldora Speedway (Rossburg, Ohio).

On Thursday evening 117 entries participated in the opening program, which saw the field divided into two $5,000-to-win events. Bub started his night with a sixth place in heat race action, which sent him to a b-main. Friday night found the field again split in half for a pair of $5,000-to-win events, and the team would continue to battle the setup on their entry. As a result Bub once again fell short of qualifying for the feature.

On Saturday evening the finale for the prestigious event was held at the 1/2 mile oval, and via his qualifying night performances as well as an invert of six McCool started fifteenth in the second heat race. Despite starting near the back of the pack Bub would finish fourth, which was one spot short of the transfer into the 100 lap, $47,000-to-win finale. He started second in the first b-main, but slipped back to a sixth place finish which brought his weekend to an early end as he failed to earn a starting spot in the main event.
